Blurb: During COVID, author Michael M Clements rediscovered his pre-millennial poetry, short stories, photos, art and keepsakes, unearthing a nostalgic time capsule. He turned it into “Poetic Dispatches from the Analog Age,” a visceral scrapbook journey through the twilight of adolescence at the end of the 20th Century filled with life lessons which still ring true today—even though they happened, mostly, before ringtones.
Synopsis: Before smartphones, digital calendars and the attention economy, people documented moments using journals, pens, pencils and the occasional not so environmentally friendly disposable camera. I was no different. During a 15-year span from 1988 to 2003, between the ages of 19 to 34, I filled sundry annual planners and date books with to-do lists, extemporaneous poetry, art and doodles. I rediscovered it all during the COVID pandemic and created a poetic scrapbook called, “Poetic Dispatches from the Analog Age.” The book follows my 15 year journey chronologically as I criss-cross the globe shedding my adolescence and documenting life in a pre-millennial, pre-digital, pre-9/11 world. But it’s more than a nostalgic look back—it’s a window into the timeless rite of passage we all endure passing from carefree adolescence into responsible adulthood.
Title: Florida Man ... And Other Meme Worthy Fantastical Tales

Genre: Short Stories—Creative Nonfiction
Word Count: 10,000 words

Synopsis: In this captivating collection of short stories, Michael M. Clements takes readers back to his roots in the unique backdrop of 1980s suburban Florida, skirting the edges of a sprawling swamp. From this distinctive starting point, he weaves a series of engaging and mystical short stories. These narratives traverse the diverse experiences of an array of characters, each on their own quest for spiritual enlightenment and purpose in a world increasingly defined by commercialism and rigid structures. Clements’ storytelling artfully explores the complex interplay between environment, personal journeys, and the universal search for deeper meaning in life.
