I’m a singer song writer, guitarist and harmonica player known to go occasionally by the stage name “Lightenin’ Boy.” Music has always kept me energized and inspired.
Ever since Santa gifted me that 1976 Cream colored Fender Stratocaster in Middle School (1983) I have been into making music, including very proudly being elected captain of the Safety Harbour Middle School band—it was probably the guitar. Later in my teens, I discovered the harmonica and the blues.
I’m essentially a self-taught musician who learned to play and perform with the late and uber talented musician Pat Koch. We would play at parties, in staircases, and wherever people let us sit down and start jamming. No sheet music. No phones then. Just playing by ear and jamming in the moment.
Over the years, I’ve played in bands as a lead singer / guitarist in High School, college, and when I lived in Japan, Hong Kong, Washington DC and now in Bali, Indonesia.
Although music has always been with me, it’s never been a career for me—but it’s always been a constant joy, and as I get older and my skills improve, I look forward to sharing a new album with you.
